Forsante and Istekki collaborate in the ICMT sector. Istekki’s procurements from suppliers are primarily aimed at acquisitions for their customers’ service production, which Istekki tenders in accordance with the procurement law. At the end of 2023, Forsante won Istekki’s public tender for a medication support system as a SaaS service. The tender included all services offered by Forsante for monitoring chronic diseases, and they are now available through Istekki.
Forsante’s new services, such as monitoring clozapine medication and diabetes treatment, are based on the logic-based IRMA AI module, which has received MDR certification and is CE-marked as a medical device in the demanding class IIb. With IRMA, it is possible to reliably produce diagnoses and recommendations for monitoring and treating various diseases in accordance with clinical guidelines.
Forsante Anticoagulation is a CE-marked service that saves up to 80% of the healthcare staff’s time spent on anticoagulation treatment. It also standardizes treatment practices and improves patient safety. Our customers have seen a clear improvement in TTR levels after the implementation of Forsante Anticoagulation, and the achieved levels are exceptionally good in both Finnish and international comparisons, with the median TTR in Forsante being 83%. Compared to the traditional method, which achieves around 70% TTR levels, this means over 20 prevented deaths per year per 1000 patients. At a TTR level above 66%, warfarin treatment is also safer than new direct anticoagulants (Kennedy C et al., Br J Clin Pharmacol. 2022;88:178-186).
Forsante Anticoagulation has been in use in Seinäjoki for several years, and last autumn it expanded to the entire South Ostrobothnia wellbeing services county.
“We have been using Forsante to support anticoagulation treatment in Seinäjoki since 2017. Forsante’s automation calculates Marevan doses for patients based on laboratory results and sends the information to them via text message. Patients in good treatment balance are fully covered by automation, which has significantly freed up healthcare staff’s time. It is easy to monitor patients’ treatment through Forsante, and addressing potential problems with Marevan treatment is faster than before,” says Heidi Vuorenmaa, the head nurse of Seinäjoki’s social- and healthcare center, in Istekki’s release.
The smooth implementation of Forsante’s services through public procurement is now possible thanks to the collaboration with Istekki.
“From the supplier’s perspective, one major advantage of collaborating with Istekki is that Istekki handles the procurement process and contracts with the customer on behalf of the supplier. This frees up resources for the company providing and delivering the services, for example, for service development, as customer management is shared with Istekki,” says Virve Liistokki, Istekki’s product owner, in the release.
